What is awaiting result?

Awaiting results” is a term commonly used by Nigerians to mean a result of an examination that is yet to be released, This examination could be WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or GCE. For instance, if you want to apply for any examination that requires you to provide your O’level result (Like WAEC) and the WAEC result has not been released at that time. The result is said to be an awaited result.

CAN I APPLY FOR POST UTME EXAMINATION WITH AWAITING RESULT?

The answer is yes! You can apply or register for post UTME examination with awaiting result. This is apparently true as many universities have publicly promulgated this in their websites. Today, O’level results are not always required for admission. Most schools pay attention to JAMB UTME score and Post UTME score. O’level results are only required during final clearance in the school. So you can register for post UTME examination with awaiting result. When your result is ready, remember to bring it for clearance in your school.

Nevertheless, if the university or polytechnic you want to apply for clearly state that your WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB result is necessary to register for post UTME examination, then you cannot apply with awaiting result. Though, i have not seen any university that does this. For universities like UNN, UNILAG, UI, UNIBEN, UNICAL, ABU, OAU, UI, LASU and many other schools, you can register for post UTME examination with awaiting result.

For those of you asking whether using awaiting result will have any effect on your admission, note that using awaiting result does not affect your admission. It will only destroy your admission if after getting the awaited result, you didn’t meet the requirement of the university you applied.
