Special Consideration for UTME Subjects

  • NILE accepts Chemistry, Biology and any other Science
    subject.
  • UDU and MAIDUGURI accept Mathematics in lieu of
    Physics.
  • ILORIN requires Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • LAGOS requires English Language, Biology, Chemistry and
    Physics.
  • ABU requires Use of English, Physics, Chemistry and
    biology.
  • PHC requires Physics, Chemistry and Biology. (vii) KASU requires Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Requirements for Medicine and Surgery

Below is the UTME Requirement for Medicine and Surgery;

  • Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Special Consideration for O’level Subjects

  • BENIN, IBADAN, ABSU, EBSU, UNIOSUN, COOU and BOWEN
    require the ‘O’ Level credit passes at one (1) sitting.
  • ILORIN requires five (5) SSC credit passes in English
    Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
    at one sitting.
  • NDU requires the O’ level credit passes at not more than
    two (2) sittings.
  • NILE accepts credit pass in any Science subject in lieu of
    Physics.
  • UNN accepts Physics with Chemistry (as a single subject) for
    Physics and Chemistry. UNN requirements should be at one
    (1) sitting.
  • EUI requires five (5) credit passes at SSC or its equivalent in
    English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and
    Biology.
  • DELSU requires SSCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent with
    credit passes in at least five (5) subjects which must
    include English Language, Mathematics, Physics,
    Chemistry and Biology in one sitting.
  • FED-DUTSE requires five (5) credit passes at SSC to include
    English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and
    Physics.
  • LAGOS requires Five O/Level credit passes in English
    Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
  • ABU requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes in English
    Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • PHC requires Five (5) SSC credit passes in English
    Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • KASU requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes to include

Special Consideration for Direct Entry

  • ABSU – all candidates no matter their mode of
    admission are required to have ‘O’ Level or its
    equivalent with credit passes in English Language,
    Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at one (1) sitting.
  • ABSU, AAU and OOU accept Degree in related
    programme.
  • ABUJA requires DE candidates to fulfil the UTME
    requirements.
  • BENIN accepts
    a) at least three (3) ‘A’ Level passes not more than C
    or a minimum of 12 points in Biology or Zoology,
    Physics and Chemistry at not more than one (1)
    sitting.
    b) at least a Second Class Upper Division from a
    recognised University in either B.Sc Biological
    Sciences or B.Sc. Medical Sciences.
  • BINGHAM and PHC – No Direct Entry
  • BSU and LASU accept a good Honours degree minimum
    of Second Class Upper in relevant programme.
  • CALABAR accepts Degree not below a good Second Class
    Lower Division in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology,
    Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory, Biology, Zoology or
    Chemistry. Does not accept IJMB for Direct Entry.
  • EBSU accepts B.Sc Second Class Upper Division in any
    Biological Science plus ‘0’ level credit passes in English
    Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics
    at one (1) sitting.
  • ILORIN accepts B.Sc Second Class Honours in Anatomy,
    Biochemistry, Microbiology, Physiology, Zoology and
    other Basic Science programme. Also accepts a minimum
    aggregate of 13 points.
  • ILORIN accepts;
    a) A’ Level passes in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or
    Zoology in addition to the UTME requirements.
    b) minimum aggregate of 13 points in Biology, Chemistry
    and Physics at not more than one sitting at ‘A’ Level.
    c) a minimum of B.Sc Second Class Upper Division in
    Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Physiology and zoology only.
    d) The required UTME five (5) “O” Level credit passes in
    English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
    and Biology must be at one sitting.
  • JOS requires DE candidates to fulfil the UTME
    requirements.
  • LAGOS accepts
    a) JUPEB/‘A’ -level passes in Physics Chemistry and
    Biology.
    b) B.Sc. Degree (first class/second class upper) in
    Medical related fields.
  • LASU requires a minimum of C in each of the subjects
    and will consider a Bachelor of Science with a minimum
    of second class upper division.
  • LAUTECH accepts ‘A’ Level passes in Physics, Chemistry
    and Biology or Zoology plus the UTME requirements to
    be considered for admission into 200 level.
  • NDU accepts
    a) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics
    with a minimum of 10 points at not more than two
    (2) sittings.
    b) a B.Sc. with a minimum of second class upper
    division in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry,
    Microbiology, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics and
    Botany.
  • OAU accepts B.Sc. with a minimum of second class upper
    division in relevant programme (Sciences).
  • OOU and CALABAR accept degree in Science not below
    Second Class Lower Division.
  • UDU, MAIDUGURI and EBSU accept ‘A’ Level pass in
    Mathematics in lieu of Physics.
  • FED-DUTSE accepts:
    (a) three (3) ‘A’ Level subjects in Biology, Chemistry, and
    Physics obtained from IJMB.
    (b) at least Second Class (Lower) degree in one of the Health Sciences programmes (e.g. Human Anatomy, Human
    Physiology, Nursing etc), Biology, Biochemistry or
    Microbiology.
  • UNIOSUN accepts
    a) a minimum of 10 points in Physics, Chemistry and
    Biology or Zoology at ‘A’ Level or equivalents.
    b) first degree in relevant Biomedical Sciences Medical,
    paramedical, Biological, Chemical or Physical Sciences
    with not less than second class upper division.
  • EUI accepts;
    a) ‘A’ Level passes in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or
    Zoology in addition to UTME requirements.
    b) B.Sc. in relevant fields not below Second Class Lower
    Division.
  • ABU accepts ‘A’ Level/IJMB Passes in three subjects in
    Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Zoology.
  • PHC accepts Three (3) A/Level passes in JUPEB or IJMB or
    GCE or HSC Passes in Physics, Chemistry and Biology
    including UTME entry requirements. First Degree
    (Second Class Honours – Upper division) in either
    Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry or any other related
    course including UTME entry requirements.
  • KASU accepts Ordinary level requirement plus; Passes in
    Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Zoology at Higher School
    Certificates or Advance level of GCE, IJMB or equivalents.
    An acceptable First Degree in relevant Biological or
    Physical Sciences discipline.
  • DELSU requires
    a) First Degree in relevant Biological or Physical Sciences
    discipline not less than Second Class Upper Division
    may be considered in addition to the UTME
    requirement.
    b) Degree from Science Laboratory Technology is not
    accepted.
