This is a vital aspect of health care system, as it provides information on patient’s health state which aids in finding definite diagnosis of a patient. Medical science professionals are often referred to as Medical Laboratorians.


This is a medical process of obtaining internal structures of the body using x-rays for medical treatments.

It takes a solid five good years to study and get a degree in radiography in Nigeria university. It is one branch of medical line that is lacking adequate personnels.

Biochemistry is another course that is related to medicine. It is the study of chemical processes within and relating to living organisms.

Biochemistry is also related to molecular biology which is the study of the molecular mechanisms by which genetic information encoded in DNA is able to result in the processes of life.

The course is a sub-discipline of both biology and chemistry and it can be divided into three fields namely; molecular genetics, protein science and metabolism.


Microbiology is another rare medical course which involves the study of microorganisms with particular emphasis on the biology of bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoan parasites.

Many students do not know this course to be a medical course. However, the course also focuses on the pathogenic potential of the organisms that cause disease in man.
